Sign in with Twitch

Buyers sign in with their Twitch account. If they have not chosen a name on stream yet, their Twitch name fills it in, so the name you call out on stream is the one your chat knows. Customer accounts must be on: Settings, Accounts.

At Twitch

1. Twitch only lets you register an app with two-factor authentication on. Turn it on first in your Twitch security settings.
2. Open the Twitch developer console, go to Applications and press Register Your Application.
3. Fill it in:
   • Name: your shop's name. It has to be unique on Twitch.
   • OAuth Redirect URLs: the Redirect URL from the Sign in with Twitch card in Apps. Press Add.
   • Category: Website Integration.
   • If Twitch asks for a client type, choose Confidential.
4. Press Create. Then press Manage on your app, copy the Client ID, press New Secret and copy the secret.

In Ripshop

1. Go to Apps and press Set up on Sign in with Twitch.
2. Paste the Client ID and Client secret, and save.
3. Open your shop in a private window and sign in with Twitch once.

When it does not work

• Twitch says the redirect is wrong. The URL at Twitch is not the one Ripshop shows. Copy it again from the card. When your shop moves to another domain, the redirect URL changes with it: add the new one at Twitch.
• A buyer is told their Twitch account has no email address to use. Their Twitch account has no verified address. They verify one at Twitch, or create an account with their email instead.
• No Twitch button on your shop. Customer accounts are off, or the card in Apps is not set up.

Buyers who already ordered as a guest with the same address find those orders in their account.
