Your own domain

Every shop starts on its own address under ripshop.io. That address keeps working; your own domain comes on top of it.

1. Buy the domain wherever you like.
2. Settings, Domain, Connect a domain. Type it and press Add.
3. Press DNS records on its row and set those records at the company you bought the domain from.
4. Press Check DNS. Once the domain points to Ripshop, the status goes from Waiting for DNS to Connecting to Connected. The certificate is arranged for you, and for a bare domain www works too.
5. Press Make primary. From then on your links and mails use your own domain.

DNS changes can take a while to reach everyone. If the check says it does not point here yet, press Check DNS again later.

Mail from your own domain

Your first own domain carries your shop's mail too, with no step of its own. Its mail records are in the same DNS records list as the website's. The Mail column says Connected once your mails leave from your own domain.
