Adding a product
The fields that matter, and what each one does.
Products, New product.
- Name and slug. The slug is the web address. Change it later and the old one keeps working.
- SKU. Your own code. Used by the import to recognise a product, so keep it stable.
- Category (what it is) and collection (which set). Buyers filter on both.
- Language. English or Japanese, for cards where it matters. It becomes a filter in your shop.
- Price and VAT rate. Whether you type prices including or excluding VAT follows your tax setting.
- Images. The first one is the main image. Ripbase makes the sizes it needs and serves the small one on a phone.
- Max per customer. Stops one person taking the whole box. Counted across their open and paid orders.
- Dimensions. Length, width and thickness in millimetres. Shipping methods use them to decide what fits through a letterbox.
- Low stock threshold. When stock drops to this number the product shows up on your dashboard.
Product groups
The same box in English and in Japanese is two products, but they belong together. Give them the same product group and each one shows the other on its page, cheapest first.
Featured and sort order
Featured puts a product on the homepage. Sort order decides where it sits in a list; equal numbers fall back to newest first.
