The counter

Sell, buy and trade over the counter, and take cash, card or a QR payment.

POS in the sidebar opens the POS full screen, on a phone as well as a laptop. It is on the plans that include the counter. The menu top left leads back to the admin.

Sell

  1. Tap what the customer is holding, or type in Search your stock: a name, a SKU, a set, or a slab's certificate number. All, Sealed and Cards narrow the shelf; Set and Category open a list with the biggest stock first and a search. Once you keep spots, Spot ticks what came along today, and the shelf shows only those until the end of the day. The tile icons (on a phone, Tiles in the menu) switch between small and large tiles. With a handheld scanner, a slab's label puts that slab straight on the order.
  2. On a phone, press Checkout. On a laptop the order is beside the products.
  3. Agree a price if you like. Tap a line's price for a new one, or One price for everything to make the whole order come to one amount. A price never goes above what you asked.

Pay

Press Pay, then pick how:

  • Card. With Mollie Tap or a Mollie terminal the amount goes to the device. Without one, your own card terminal took it and Ripshop records that.
  • QR code. The customer scans and pays on their phone through Stripe or Mollie.
  • Cash, the row under them. Tap Exact or the note you were handed, or type what you received. The change shows.

Afterwards Email a receipt sends it, and Next customer clears the counter. Counter sales are under the POS tab in Orders.

That tab opens on Today at the counter: cash in, card, QR or link, trade-in credit and cash paid out, and what the register should hold. Count the register against it at the end of the day.

The customer's name

Customer name is one field for both jobs: the name on the invoice for what they buy, and the seller of any cards they hand over. Every sale needs one: it sits above the total, and Pay asks for it when it is empty.

Buy and trade cards in

  1. Press the camera button, or Scan cards coming in on the checkout. On a phone the camera opens; press Done, back to checkout when you have them all. On a laptop, type a card's name or number under Coming in and press Enter, or link your phone once with Scan with a phone: it keeps scanning for every customer after that.
  2. The cards are on the checkout, under Coming in. Tap one to change its condition or value, or take it off with the cross. A card the scan was not sure of says so: Change picks the right one.
  3. Pick the rate you pay, or type your own, and fill in the Customer name.

Clear takes everything off the counter: what the customer takes, the cards they handed over, and their name.

When they also buy, the two are set against each other. You see what the customer pays, what you pay out, or that it is even. Pay out offers cash or a transfer to their IBAN.

The rate buttons come from Settings, POS: Buy rates, and the Default rate that is always offered.

Commission

Cash, and a card payment on your own terminal, carry no Ripshop commission. A QR payment, and a card payment on Mollie Tap or a Mollie terminal, go through Stripe or Mollie and do. See your subscription.
