Point of Sale

Growth plan and up

Sell, buy and trade in your shop and at fairs.

Use your iPad or phone as the POS. A card you sell in person is gone from your online store at once, so nothing sells twice.

Start your store
  • Take cash, card or QR code payments
  • Buy and trade cards in
  • Sell from your iPad or phone, also at fairs

Selling

A sale in four steps.

Your stock goes down and the invoice is made the moment it is paid.

The POS on an iPad: cards to tap on the left, each with its price, condition and binder, and three of them on the order on the right with what they cost

Paying

Take cash, card or QR code payments.

However the customer pays, you get one order and one invoice.

Cash

Tap Exact or the note you were given, or type the amount. The screen shows the change to give back.

The cash screen: what is due, Exact, three notes, what the customer gave and the keys The change to give back, above the Paid button

Card

With Mollie, the POS sends the amount to your Mollie terminal or to Mollie Tap on your phone. With another terminal, type the amount there and tap Paid.

Card on your own terminal: the POS asks once whether the amount went through

QR code

The customer scans the code and pays on their own phone. The screen turns green when the money is in.

No commission on cash

Your own card terminal carries none either. Payments through Stripe or Mollie, by QR code or on a Mollie terminal, carry your plan's commission.

Buying and trading

Take cards in trade. Only the difference is paid.

Check each card on Cardmarket and use your own buy rates. The cards go into your stock at what you paid, so you know your margin.

  1. 1

    Add the cards they bring

Scan each card with your phone or type its name. Each card shows its Cardmarket price, and a slab its eBay price for the grade.

  2. 2

Check what a card is worth

Open the card on Cardmarket in its language and condition, among the sellers you compete with. Change the condition or the value with a tap.

  3. 3

    Pay only the difference

Pick one of your buy rates, like 80%. The customer pays the rest, or you pay out in cash or by bank transfer.

The order: an Elite Trainer Box going out, two cards coming in, each with what it is worth and what you pay for it, and your buy rates with 80% chosen

At a fair

Sell at fairs with only an iPad or a phone.

A sale at the fair takes the card out of your online store too, so it never sells twice.

Find every card in seconds
Every card shows its spot, like Binder 1 · Page 4. Tick the spots you brought and the POS shows only those.
Never book a sale twice on bad wifi
If the wifi drops after you tap Paid, tap it again. The POS finds the sale and never counts it twice.
Take card payments on your phone
With Mollie Tap on your phone, you need no separate card terminal.

Also in the POS

Small things that save you time on a busy day.

  • See your margin

See what an item cost you while you agree a price. A price below cost shows in red.

  • Mail the receipt

Send the receipt and invoice when the customer asks. A customer who paid by QR code can ask on their own phone.

  • Scan cards with your phone

Link your phone to the iPad or laptop once. Every card you scan shows up in the sale.

  • Count the register

See today's cash, card, QR code and trade-in totals, and the cash that should be in the register.

  • Finish an open sale

Left a sale waiting, or was it paid while you were away? Resume, finish or cancel it from the POS.

  • Clear invoices for trades

A trade is a sale and a purchase. The invoice shows what was paid in cards and what in money.

Sell at your next fair from your iPad or phone.

Questions about the POS

The short answers. Everything else is in the help center.

Do I need to buy new hardware?

No. Use the iPad, phone or laptop you already have: the POS runs in the browser. Keep your own card terminal, or take card payments on your phone with Mollie Tap.

Do I need Mollie or Stripe to start?

No. Cash and your own card terminal work from day one, with no commission. Connect Stripe or Mollie when you want QR code payments.

Do I have to enter my stock again for the POS?

No. The POS sells from the stock of your online store, so you add each product once. Bring products in from a spreadsheet, or scan your cards with your phone.

What if the wifi at a fair is bad?

Nothing is lost or counted twice: scanned cards wait on your phone until the wifi is back, and tapping Paid again finds the sale. A sale does need a connection to finish.

Do cards I buy in go online?

Yes, right away, so a card bought at a fair can sell online that evening. A card you have not listed yet is priced at what it was worth at the POS.

Do I pay commission on a trade?

Only on the money part, when the customer pays it by QR code or on a Mollie terminal. The cards that change hands carry none, and neither do cash and your own terminal.

Can my staff use the POS?

Yes. Everyone on your team logs in with their own account, so you never share your password, and every sale shows who made it. How many people you can add depends on your plan.
