Cookies
Which cookies the Ripshop site and the shops on it use, and why.
Versión 1.8, 16 de octubre de 2026
This site
ripshop.io sets the cookies it needs to work without asking. These are set by us, are not shared with anyone, and need no consent under Dutch and EU law. Cookies from Google Analytics and Google Ads are set only after you accept them in the cookie banner.
| Cookie | What it does | Kept for |
|---|---|---|
the session cookie (its name ends in -session) |
Keeps your session while you move between pages, keeps you logged in to your Ripshop account, and keeps Ripshop's own team logged in to the platform panel. | Two hours after your last visit |
XSRF-TOKEN |
Protects forms against forged requests from other sites. | Two hours after your last visit |
remember_owner_… |
Keeps you logged in to your Ripshop account when you tick "remember me" logging in. | 400 days |
remember_platform_… |
Only for Ripshop's own team, when they tick "remember me" logging in to the platform panel. | 400 days |
ripshop_consent |
Remembers your answer in the cookie banner, so we do not ask again. | 180 days |
ripshop_locale |
Remembers the language you chose or last read this site in, so the log-in and sign-up speak it too. | One year |
With your consent, these are added:
| Cookie | Set by | What it does | Kept for |
|---|---|---|---|
_ga, _ga_… |
Google Analytics | Tells your visits apart, so we see how people use the site and where they come from. | 13 months |
_gcl_au, _gcl_aw |
Google Ads | Notes that you came from one of our ads, so we see which ads bring shops to Ripshop, and lets Google show our ads to people who visited this site. | 90 days |
We also count visits ourselves, on our own server. That count uses the session cookie above and sets no cookie of its own; what it stores is on the privacy page.
Google Analytics and Google Ads are loaded through Google Tag Manager. Until you accept, neither of them runs and nothing is stored on your device; Tag Manager itself and the fonts (Google Fonts) are fetched from Google, which sees your IP address when they load but sets no cookie. You can change your answer at any time with "Cookie settings" at the bottom of every page. We use no social media services on this site.
The shops on Ripshop
A shop that runs on Ripshop sets the same kind of cookies:
| Cookie | What it does | Kept for |
|---|---|---|
the session cookie (its name ends in -session) |
Keeps the cart and the session while a visitor moves between pages. | Two hours after the last visit |
XSRF-TOKEN |
Protects forms against forged requests from other sites. | Two hours after the last visit |
remember_web_… |
Keeps a buyer signed in to their account after they sign in, and a staff member signed in to the admin when they tick "remember me". | 400 days |
ripshop_admin_locale |
Remembers the language a staff member picked for the shop's admin on this device, also on its login. | One year |
Shops also count their visitors. That count uses the shop's own session cookie and sets no cookie of its own. It stores a hashed session identifier, the page, the referring site, campaign tags in the address, the type of device, the country looked up from the IP address and the time. It stores no IP address and not who the visitor is and shares nothing with third parties. It is used only to show the shop owner how their shop is doing.
Tracking pixels in a shop
Under Apps in their admin, a shop owner can add Google Analytics, the Meta pixel, the TikTok pixel or the Snapchat pixel. A shop cannot add any other scripts or widgets.
When a shop has one of these, it shows Ripshop's consent banner to every new visitor. Nothing from those services loads until the visitor accepts; a visitor who refuses never contacts them. The answer is kept in the browser's local storage under ripbase-consent, not in a cookie. Once accepted, those services set their own cookies. The shop owner is responsible for them and describes them in the shop's own cookie policy.
Managing cookies
You can delete or block cookies in your browser settings. Without the session and security cookies you cannot log in or send forms, on this site or in the shops.
Changes
If we start using other cookies, we update this page first and ask for consent where the law requires it.
